Suffolk Day

Suffolk Day is the annual celebration of all things Suffolk, and everything the county has to offer. It’s a county-wide party to recognise our great icons, attractions, landscapes, institutions, special events and more. The annual festivities take place around the longest day of the year, when the sun rises on our east coast and shines upon the many wonderful things we have. Bury St Edmunds has always been at the heart of Suffolk’s history and heritage, and we celebrate this every year with our special Suffolk Day tours. Due to Covid-19, we celebrated Suffolk Day differently in 2020 by making this special video taster tour of Bury, telling the story of St Edmund, the once mighty Benedictine Abbey, the town that grew up around it and the creation of today’s Cathedral. In 2021, you can once again experience a live Suffolk Day Tour on 20 and 21 June.
