We were delighted to welcome the Tourism Minister, Nigel Huddleston MP, on a tour of the abbey during his recent visit to Bury St Edmunds.
The group included Bury St Edmunds MP Jo Churchill, Bury St Edmunds and Beyond Brand and Marketing Manager Sue Warren, Chair of the Abbey 1,000 group Libby Ranzetta, and Abbey Gardens Manager Martina Georgieva.
It provided us with a great opportunity to tell him the story of the abbey, explain its significance to the town and its tourist economy, and describe the exciting plans for its future care, interpretation and enjoyment.
