At Ussuri Falls we have 2 beautiful Amur leopards, one female and one male. Leopards are generally solitary in the wild, so our leopards have their own areas of the enclosure. We recently upgraded the leopard enclosure to include a mesh area so our male and female can see each other and help when they are ready for breeding season.
Amur leopards are distinctive due to their beautiful pale coat and dark rosettes which are large and widely spaced with thick, unbroken rings.
Sadly, Amur leopards are one of the most critically endangered big cats in the world, with an estimated 35 individuals left in the Wild.
We are very excited about what the future might bring for our Amur leopards so why not stop by their enclosure at Ussuari by the falls.
